Blue Origin

Gold
Blue Origin was established by Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos with a bold vision to seed an enduring human presence in space. In November 2015, Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket became the first to fly to space and return to Earth via vertical landing. Less than two months later, the very same rocket launched and landed again, demonstrating reuse – a key enabler to a future in which millions of people are living and working in space. Luxembourg Ministry of the Economy

Gold
Luxembourg provides a unique legal, regulatory and business environment enabling private investors and companies to explore and use space resources.

The identification and utilization of space resources is fast becoming a reality, driven by a revolution in space technology, accelerating exploration of outer space and the eventual scarcity of certain resources on Earth. Building on its long history at the forefront of the commercial satellite communications industry, Luxembourg aims to play a leading role in the exploration and utilization of these resources.

Its goal is to ensure that space resources explored under its jurisdiction serve a peaceful purpose, are gathered and used in a sustainable manner compatible with international law and for the benefit of humankind. Luxembourg’s vision is built on support for advanced research activities and technological capabilities, drawing on the country’s existing expertise in the space sector and its ongoing strategy of economic diversification into future-oriented high-tech industries.

Space for Humanity

Gold
Space for Humanity is a non-profit organization that will select a non-astronaut to travel to the edge of space in 2018.

Space for Humanity will mean different things to different people. For us, it means leveraging the power of space to improve humanity for our world by providing an experience that will expand an individual’s perspective on what it means to be a human on mother earth. Through group experience, and through a diverse selection process, we hope to do our small part to help take our species forward into a brighter future.

OffWorld

Gold
OffWorld is developing colonies of ruggedized, modular machine learning robots for applications in terrestrial mining, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure repair and other industries. Our robotic machines are truly universal - deployable on both Earth and in space. On Earth, our technology can enable self-repairing cities where small semi-autonomous robots can inspect and repair municipal infrastructure, autonomous construction of new buildings and infrastructure and mining both on the land and on the seabed.

The same systems that are deployed on Earth will be used with little modification in space, on the Moon, Mars and asteroids applying extensive machine learning to these new environments. This industrial robotic workforce will create settlements, power facilities, propellants, farms and all the other pieces necessary for human expansion into the solar system and beyond. A set of interface and catalog standards will be released for companies and universities to integrate their tools and subsystems to create a solar system toolkit catalogue, enabling the growth of hundreds of prospecting, mining and operations companies in a thriving CisLunar Marketplace within a decade.
